"I was observing that I got more and more sensitive to WHAT I was actually putting into my body, especially with that un-organic restaurant food we are expected to eat [here in what is called "Assisted Living"] that causes so much suffering with its harmful oils and sugary deserts. But I am grateful I can still obtain organic food and can still observe my body's reactions to them.
 
Also, I observed to my dismay, HOW MUCH throw-away there was in such an Institution, when I KNOW there are millions of people starving as we speak. In a painful way, even THAT awareness was somewhat of a silver lining: more sensitivity to the plight of others and the food-waste Americans produce."
